- Abstract
Not many projects like Project Gutenberg exist in Indic languages and not many books are available on projects like Archive.org.
So, various Indic communities partnered with GLAM institutions to start building Wikisource in their languages and in some cases individual volunteers gathered books and scanned them themselves. This way, some languages are getting their first ever online libraries. Over the years, Indian community members have adopted new strategies to approach institutions and individuals in getting the books for Wikisource, which has different learnings and challenges from different communities.
