Event:Wikimedians of Kerala/Malayalam Wikipedia 22nd Birthday Celebration
On 21st December 2024, Malayalam Wikipedia celebrates its 22nd Anniversary, marking over two decades of contribution, growth, and enrichment of the Malayalam language on the internet. Since its inception in 2002, Malayalam Wikipedia has become an invaluable resource for millions of speakers and learners of the Malayalam language, fostering the growth of knowledge in the digital era.

[edit]The Odia Wikimedians User Group organized a special cake on 21st December 2024 to celebrate the Malayalam Wikipedia's 22nd birthday during the Indic Wikimedia Hackathon 2024 held in Bhubaneswar held during 20-22nd December 2024. Tanveer Hasan gave a brief introduction and invited everyone to join the cake-cutting ceremony. After the cake cutting, Ranjithsiji spoke about the journey and milestones of Malayalam Wikipedia. The cake was ceremoniously cut by members of the Wikimedians of Kerala User Group and other participants from Kerala.

[edit]The celebration of Malayalam Wikipedia's anniversary was conducted during WikiConference Kerala 2024, with a special birthday celebration on 28th December 2024. The event was held at College of Climate Change and Environmental Science, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur.
The event brought together Malayalam Wikimedia community members, contributors, and enthusiasts to commemorate the achievements and impact of Malayalam Wikipedia. It served as an opportunity to reflect on the progress made by contributors, acknowledge their efforts, and discuss the future direction of Malayalam Wikipedia. The celebration included interactive sessions, panel discussions, and presentations showcasing significant milestones, successful projects, and the expansion of Malayalam Wikipedia over the years.
