WLS contest is run by WikiDonne User Group (WDG) as part of the gender gap initiative across the Wikimedia projects. The campaign aims to celebrate sports, with a focus on diversity in sport, recognizing women, non binary and para-athlets by focusing on enhancing their representation and visibility on Wikipedia, Wikiquote and Wikibooks.
The impact of the Wiki Loves Sport (WLS) campaign on Wikipedia has been quite awesome, with 13 affiliates involved, almost 2.000 new articles created or edited in 9 different languages across the last five editions.
The WLS contest will run from the 22nd of July till the 22nd of September 2024
