The Wiki Loves Africa campaign 2025 (Farm to Plate) in Wikimedia Nigeria Imo State Network seeks to contribute and add content that portrays agricultural practices, farm products, and the entire process of cooking on Wikipedia. Hence, contributions such as photos, videos, and audio recordings around the theme “Farm to Plate" will be uploaded.
This campaign will help bridge the gap in the availability of visual and audio content related to Africa by increasing the visibility and understanding of African cultures, traditions, and ways of life. And also to inspires people across the continent to capture creative works of Africans.
This proposal aims to furnish relevant resources thereby facilitating the involvement of Imo State Network to this campaign.

Project Goal

- Create a comprehensive and diverse collection of media content related to Africa
- Increase African participation and representation on Wikimedia platforms
- Promote cross-cultural understanding and exchange between Africans and the global community
- Support the development of African languages and cultures on Wikimedia platforms

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?
- We plan to organise a photowalk to a main farmland in Imo State, an edit-a-thon, and an online training session.
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- We'll promote the campaign through our social media channels, including WhatsApp groups and Instagram. Effective communication strategies will be employed to ensure widespread awareness and engagement with the campaign.

- Customized T-shirt for the 3 Facilitators 6,000x3 = ₦18,000
DAY 2 (Photo Upload Session)
- Airtime and data subscription for 18 participants for online training and photo upload (To be provided by the WUGN)
- Airtime and data for the organizing of the event and reaching out to some of the participants = ₦5,000
PRIZES (For top contributors)
- 1st prize, 2nd prize, and 3rd prize = ₦45000
- Contingencies = ₦10,000
