Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom in Djougou, Benin
The program aims to help 60 Djougou teachers improve their skills in ICT, media and information literacy, content writing and reading culture, and will provide them with an alternative format for learning new things outside the usual curriculum, while enhancing Wikipedia. This program has the potential to improve their research skills, such as the ability to make sense of information, the ability to verify, evaluate and transfer reliable information from informational chaos, and the ability to use information to create new knowledge. By linking Wikipedia to the components of UNESCO's media and information literacy framework, this training will also help teachers understand and use Wikipedia as a learning tool. In addition, this training will help bridge the digital divide by encouraging collaboration and fostering better relationships.
