Events planned for March 6 and 7 are linked with the topic Challenging Learning Myths and Exploring Artificial Intelligence. The theme makes sense because in a digital world, where there is a large amount of information constantly being exchanged, our alliance opens the doors to an interesting and necessary discussion in which the academic commitment of the UANL and the Wikimedia movement are mixed.
Among the various sessions planned for both days, José Reyes, Coordinator of the Education Program of Wikimedia Mexico, will talk about open knowledge and Wikipedia, in addition to providing a workshop on editing the Encyclopedia.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jackeline Bucio, deputy director of the area of Distance Baccalaureate (B@UNAM) and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), of the Coordination of the Open University, Educational Innovation and Distance Education (CUAIEED) from UNAM and education spokesperson of the board of Wikimedia Mexico, will give a lecture on generative artificial intelligence and open knowledge.
In the interest of collaborating with open education, the activities will conclude with an Editathon on learning myths, through which Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects will be enriched with the experience and knowledge of the UANL community, through the editing and creation of relevant content, thus strengthening collaborative learning and the importance of having verified information.
As a result, the community as a whole will benefit from the wide range of educational resources available on Wikipedia, thus reiterating the importance of open and accessible education.
This partnership not only strengthens the ties between academia and the wider community, but also lays the foundation for a culture of collaboration, respect and appreciation for knowledge sharing at a global level. In an increasingly interconnected world, the collaboration between Wikimedia México and UANL represents an inspiring model of how educational institutions and collaborative online projects can come together to enrich learning and encourage the exchange of ideas for the benefit of all people.
Transparency and open access to information, promoted by all Foundation projects, aligns perfectly with UANL's mission to promote continuous learning, information sharing and global collaboration for the benefit of society.
Let's discover the transformative power of open education
