Appearance
The ESEAP Hub Interim Committee focused on the election process and design in this meeting and had extensive discussions on different scenarios. The Interim Committee also worked on finalizing their communication plan to the community regarding the next steps, as well as having some further mapping for the ESEAP Summit discussions.
Ongoing Work
The Interim Committee is currently working on the following:
- Election planning and the transition period between the end of the Interim Committee mandate and the creation of the new body.
- Discuss priority areas for the 2023 ESEAP Summit and continue the planning accordingly.
- Communication plan to share the next steps following the voting results with the ESEAP community.
Decisions
Regarding the election, the ESEAP Hub Interim Committee decided on the following:
- No popular vote
- All recognized ESEAP affiliates should have a vote
- Thematic and language groups in ESEAP should also have some representation
- Should have seats for affiliates and seats for communities
- Each affiliate has 2 votes, and each community has 1 vote
- Using Meta pages to identify the un-affiliated groups/communities; for communities that do not have a Meta page, if they want to vote, it is required for having an ESEAP affiliate to endorse their registration.
- Ensure no one is representing more than one group
- The vote to take place on Meta
