ESEAP Hub/Interim Committee Meetings/02 July 2023
Appearance
The ESEAP Hub Interim Committee met to mainly prepare the contents for the presentation at the July community meeting, covering an overview of the Interim Committee’s work, short-term fiscal sponsor analyses, and the options relating to the Interim Committee’s mandate extension voting.
The Committee members also reported back internally regarding their individual assessment of the fiscal sponsor situations. The meeting focused on discussing their current thoughts on the election for the roles defined in the Roles and Responsibilities document.
Ongoing Work
[edit]The Interim Committee is currently working on the following things:
- Internal review and feedback of the theory of change document for the ESEAP Hub based on existing discussions and outcomes.
- Drafting their Movement Strategy Implementation Grant proposal and seeking initial feedback from the relevant staff of the Community Resources team at the Foundation.
- Continue to draft the one-pager on the community process as a supporting document to expand the details in the roles and responsibilities document regarding the election.
- Planning further details for the 2023 ESEAP Summit/Track to take place at Wikimania pre-conference days.
Decisions
[edit]- The Interim Committee decided to bring up the initial fiscal sponsor discussion with the community at the July community meeting following its internal voting result: 4 members voted in favor to do so at the community meeting, where 2 members voted in favor of waiting until Wikimania.
- The Interim Committee decided to separate the discussion of fiscal sponsor and physical office location; only focusing on the fiscal sponsor discussion for the first year for now, and leaving the discussion for permanent office location for later. All attended members (6 members) voted in favor of Wikimedia Taiwan to be the fiscal sponsor of the first year to accommodate the grant when it is in place.
- The Interim Committee will regroup for further discussion on election planning once the community voting result on the Committee’s mandate extension is available.
