Things learned at the conference
[edit]- This is my first time participating in an ESEAP Conference and an international Wikimedia program. This is also my first time being a recipient of a full scholarship from the Wikimedia Foundation. I am grateful and want to thank the Wikimedia Foundation for this opportunity as one of the scholar-participants for the ESEAP Conference 2024 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia (May 10-12, 2024)
- As one of participant from host country, I have been invited to join Trust & Safety Team, which it was my first time involving in that task. I learned many thing from this experience; such as how to handle if there were an issue happen, and how to communicate to people in term of selecting precise word when to talk to.
- As a host for a session, it was my first time handling not my native language event. I felt insecure with my capability to speak in front of "strangers", to be honest, but from this event, I learned how to face it and give me strength to increase my confident.

[edit]- Join post-conference meetup with Malaysian Wikimedians. (already done: Kuala Lumpur 23)
- Inspired by some presentation from presenter, such as WikiRenjana (J2), Malay Wikimedia Project and WikiBanua (I3), and some Malay project (H2), I planned to bring their idea down for my home state. For Malay Wikibooks, i just started approaching some organization to collaborate with us for WikiSelera
- Keep support and help Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia and other Wikimedians to free knowledge by bring any Malaysian community or organisation closer.
Comments/ suggestions about the conference
[edit]- (Comment, i guess) Selection of venue, for me, was good. I also recieved such a good hospitality here. But there were some issue regarding audio video system. Perhaps can recognize earlier and solve at least a week before the conference.
- (Suggestion) i heavily recommended that ESEAP Hub must have their own social media. From that, any issue regarding communication and information about ESEAP event can be handled by any organising team.
