Problem: Not able to write good papers/electronic publishing
Who would benefit: Newspaper journalists, students, anyone trying to write about a subject
Proposed solution: create an easy to use E-publishing WIKIPAPER

It would be nice if Wikipedia made it so people can write an article or paper using the Wiki Markup Language and publish it to the web so people can link to it. I think this would drive more traffic to Wikipedia also. I used my sandbox to write an article for my website the other day and it works good [Sandbox article]. If people had 5 or 10 articles they could make in a document text editor or Source-code editor that would be dope. Maybe have a paid version for people or organizations to have Wikimedia host those articles. It would be a better version of Google Docs or other online publishing software like Medium (website), No one does a very good job of Electronic publishing yet.

Mediawiki is just to hard to even install and get going.

Larry Sanger is trying to get a blogosphere going or Encyclosphere for that reason.

There are plenty of third-party wiki hosting services that are available if you want to use mediawiki but can't figure out how to install it yourself. -- Ahecht (TALK

I used my sandbox to write an article for my website the other day and it works good – please install MediaWiki for your website rather than using Wikipedia as a web host. ~~~~

We originally tossed this here in the Larger suggestions pile, but now that pile has grown to be very large! I'm afraid this one has little hope, and since it is strictly unrelated to Wikimedia – the focus of this Survey – I'm going to do a little bit of cleanup and move this to the Archives. Feel free to continue discussing there. As mentioned above, there are numerous MediaWiki hosting sites available for free. All you need to know is how to edit.
