Description
Since 2016, there has been no Wikimedia Commons app for iOS, leaving a substantial gap for iPhone users. With over 1 billion active iPhone devices globally, this represents a significant portion of potential contributors. While Android users benefit from a dedicated app, iOS users lack similar support, creating an unequal experience. Additionally, around 85% of all photos are now taken with smartphones, making a mobile app essential for easy uploading and management. Developing an iOS app will bridge this gap, enhance user engagement, and leverage the prevalence of smartphone photography to enrich Wikimedia Commons.
