Background

CIS-A2K is focusing on re-licensing activity in Maharashtra for the last three years. As of now, 150+ books have been re-licensed, scanned and uploaded on Wikimedia Commons. The occasions like Marathi Language Day, Women's Day etc. are utilised to appeal the individuals and organisations. The appeal was made through social media, emails and news on the occasion of language day on 27 February 2021.

Re-licensing sessions

Various authors and organisations responded to the appeal to make their works free. The online sessions on the process were conducted with Manavlok organisation and authors - Pradeep Purandare, Santosh Gondhalekar, Bhaskar Girdhari, Mangala Apte and Shakuntala Garad. They have started OTRS process to re-license total 7 books. The books are being uploaded in Wikimedia Commons after the scanning. The process with Manavlok will be started later as they are releasing more than 15 works.
