Purpose of the Event/Activity

• Uttar pradesh has a very rich cultural heritage, but the number of freely licensed photographs of cultural heritage in Uttar pradesh listed on Commons is still low, so we want to make a difference in UP that will finally let people know more about Wikipedia and its partner projects. we will make aware. especially. we will train and encourage people to document their cultural heritage on WikiCommons. There are many historical monuments in India that come under the Archaeological Survey of India but no one is taking care of them. Documentation and photos of such places will be taken throughout the project. The project has done successfully several photo walk in Uttar pradesh many historical places, library, Ruins, museums and captured more than 500 photos in all photo walk with the phone in 2023 Without any financial aid but we want increas project activity with the support of cis-a2k,

• Heritage is an essential aspect of Wikimedia projects because it enriches the content, promotes cultural diversity, and supports the mission of providing free access to the sum of all human knowledge. By documenting and sharing heritage, Wikipedia not only preserves valuable cultural information but also fosters understanding, respect, and appreciation for the rich diversity of human experiences across the world.

Agenda/Program of the Event/Activity

• Training new users in Wikimedia Commons
• Spread awareness about Wikipedia and Wikimedia commons at local school for students
• Collaboration with Local photographer's & Public
• Uploading good photographs of Uttar Pradesh
• Keeping new user's interest & sustaining them

Expected Outcomes from the Event/Activity Planned

• 100 Students and 20+Teachers Staff will be in the Wiki Commons, Wikipedia'sister projects awareness, workshop
• 4 wikimedians for Photowalk and training activity as the organizers.
• collaboration with local photographer.

On Wiki

• 500+ photos will be uploaded on the commons of Culture, religion, heritage, in-danger sites Etc..
• 50+ new articles will be created based on the project.
• 25 new Users/volunteers will recruited.

Expected number of attendees

5-6 photographers, teachers, students and others.

Post Event/Activity Engagement

Follow-up engagement plan post the event/activity

• Engaging all participants to make sure they contribute to Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia Photography training classes

• All participants will get participant certificate so they show interest in the future too

  Update: First call between Proposed community members and CIS-A2K staff did happen on 30 October 2024 and discussed various ways to improve the project including focusing more on Commons activity and initial training sessions, etc., Further steps will be soon updated. --Pavan (CIS-A2K) (talk) 11:43, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
