Education & Science Programme
- Professors Mentorship
As a spin-of of the project, one of our activist has been part of the lectures of the 2011 Nobel Prize laureat Dan Shechtman. The event was was organized by the Institute of Chemistry from Skopje, and the Society of Chemists and Technologists of Macedonia. The event was held on May 23 and the point of SK involvement was to capture quality photos of the respective professor and researcher. 36 images were uploaded on Commons and оn May 25, one article was created and another one was improved.
- Students Mentorship
On June 6, there was a new workshop in honor of outstanding Macedonian and world anthropologists. A total of 13 people were involved, of which 4 were new participants. One article was created, while three were improved. 8 photos were uploaded to Macedonian language Wikipedia. On June 8, three additional photos were uploaded.
- WikiLectures
On June 9, we had a recording session again at the Institute of Geography, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Prof. PhD. Marija Ljakoska, who was the main collaborator, and four other students from the previously mentioned Institute, lectured by solving demographic equations. 13 videos managed to be recorded. On June 26 one article was created and on 27th another two got created. On June 30, an online workshop was held with the previous students lecturers. During the workshop, two articles got created and three got improved.
Community Programme
- Edit-a-thons
On May 15, 2023, an editorial marathon was held on the topic Mountaineering in Macedonia. The event was organized in cooperation with activists from the Mountaineering Federation of Macedonia, in the premises of the already mentioned Federation. A total of 10 people were present at the event, 8 of whom came through the Mountaineering Federation. Then 6 articles were created, 4 articles were improved, and five images were uploaded.
- CEE Spring 2023
From April 4 to May 4, Shared Knowledge held its traditional CEE Spring 2023 edition of this stand alone editing competition. The contest comprised of four competitions who were able to create 245 articles and to improve 5 articles.
- Editing Days
Shared Knowledge managed to organize 26 editions on all the Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The first one was on April 4, while the last one was on June 29. Seven people became participants.
- Editing Weekends
13 editions were made on various topics. All the Q2 weekends were scheduled. 11 people were part of it and contributed on this Saturday to Sunday project.
- Editing Weeks
From 25th to 31th of May, the first 2023 editing week was held. It was titled Wiki For Human Rights 2023 as part of the WikiForHumanRights initiative. The contest was participated by three competitors, totaling four people in the project. The competitors were able to create 128 articles.
- Photohunts
One photohunt, on June 24, was made at destinations in the most eastern part of Macedonia. The two aplicants/participans managed to make and upload 122 images on Commons. Later, four articles got created and improved, each.
Partnerships Programme
- Botanic Garden Skopje
On May 30, a photo session and workshop was held in the Botanical Garden. First, the photo session was held, which started at 10:00 and lasted until 11:20. From the photoshoot, 93 images were uploaded on Commons.
The workshop started at 12 o'clock and lasted until three o'clock. The workshop was organized by three students from the Institute of Biology, one assistant at the same institute, as well as two employees of the Botanical Garden. 13 articles were created, thematically related to species grown in the garden. After the photoshoot and the workshop, minor editorial engagements followed. One template was created on May 31.
- MakSport
Several individual editing engagements were made in April and May. On April 2, one person created two articles and improved three articles. On May 3, editing efforts were made by one user and by doing that, he created seven articles and one template. On May 8, two articles were improved. On May 9, another user improved one article. On May 10, two articles were created, two articles were improved, and two templates were also created. Two days later, one article was created, while one was improved. On May 14, 1 article was created, 1 article was improved, and two templates were created.
