My Experience as a Newcomer Wikipedian During My Master's Internship
By: Veress Evelin Andrea

I am grateful for the opportunity to have entered the Wikipedia community and very eager to do more edits or to write entire articles in Romanian.

First of all, at the beginning of my internship journey, I could not have imagined that I would be able to create an entire article from scratch, in Romanian about topics I am passionate about. I thought the process would be more challenging, as there would be many technical aspects I might not understand correctly. However, the steps and the internship guide were immensely helpful. At first, I created my use page, after that i tried a few light edits. Only after these steps, I created the article "Clarice Lispector" from scratch. After publishing the article, I noticed that another user contributed to the page by adding the infobox at the beginning. This was an experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone, and for my first article, I had access to all the necessary tools to create a well-documented and coherent page in Romanian. The article creation guide was particularly helpful. One thing I want to highlight, as I found it interesting, is that when I wanted to add a representative picture of the author I wrote about, I realized that only images already available in the Wikimedia archive could be used, as far as I understood. Apart from that, all the biographical details, references, chosen images, and the format of the article were created by me. I will link the archived article before the edits by the other user, for comparison purposes (archived version), and this is the current version of the article titled "Clarice Lispector" in Romanian (current version).
