Asọmpi Mkpụrụokwu Otu Narị (Igbo Wiktionary 100 Words Challenge)

Aim

The writing contest: Asọmpi Mkpụrụokwu Otu Narị hosted by the Igbo Wikimedians User Group and supported by Wikimedia Foundation will focus majorly on creation of new words in Igbo language Wiktionary. This contest will enable us increase the number of words in Igbo Wiktionary to 1000 while also recruiting more young persons into the fold of Igbo Language editors and sharing knowledge. Kindly let us know about your participation by signing up at the participants' section, and also listing your words added at the achievements' section when the contest starts!

Prizes

The following prizes will be awarded to participants at the end of the contest to the highest contributors: 1st Prize: 2nd Prize: 3rd Prize: Contributor with the highest images: 3 highest new contributors: Consolation prizes for the 5 runner ups:

Judging the contest

The judging of the contest will be point-based, the individuals with the highest points will be awarded the prize. The scoring system for the winners would be as follows:

Five points (5.0) would be awarded for every new word added with definition. Three points (3.0) would be awarded for every newly added word with an image, link and category. Two points (2.0) for quality (includes using the appropriate intonations, grammar, etc.)

We will also use the hashtag #Ig100Challenge to measure the contributions which will also help us to achieve an excellent Jury procedure.

The contest runs from June 18th until July 17th, 2021. Winners will be announced on the 10th of August 2021.
