Archives Challenge
- Language
- English version - Версия на български - Deutsche Version - Versión en español
Images and documents from the Bulgarian State Archives are very valuable and Wikimedians' of Bulgaria cooperation with the Bulgarian Archives State Agency is incredibly important for the improvement and expansion of Wikipedia's encyclopaedic content. Up to November 2015, more than 5500 archive materials have been digitized and uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
Aim
[edit]This "Archives Challenge" is a cross-border GLAM-cooperation, which aims at:
- improvement in the file descriptions in different languages, because that would make the documents accessible to people around the globe,
- addition of more categories, because that would make the documents easier to find,
- addition of the images to articles, and creation of articles, based on the images.
Here are the starting points for people, accepting the challenge:
- c:COM:BASA - coordination page
- c:Category:Images from the Bulgarian Archives State Agency - all images
Quantitative aims are hard to be defined beforehand, since this is the first challenge of this kind, to the best knowledge of the organisers.
