Africa Wiki Women - Nominate Her is dedicated to amplifying and celebrating the contributions of African women within the Wikimedia community. Our goal is to shine a spotlight on the remarkable work of women across the continent, ensuring their efforts and achievements are recognized and valued.

Identify and honor African women who have made significant contributions to Wikimedia projects, including content creation, leadership, and advocacy.

Amplification

Promote the stories and work of African women in Wikimedia through various platforms, ensuring their voices and contributions are heard and seen across the community.

Meet our Nominees

November 2024 Nominee

With the launch of the Nominate Her campaign, Tochi Precious has been the first nominee to be celebrated. She is a Nigerian Wikipedian, the Co-founder of the Wikimedia User Group, and a language advocate.

December 2024 Nominee

In the last month of 2024, the Africa Wiki Women celebrated Rebecca Jeannette as a nominee of the campaign. She is Rwandan, the Co-founder of the Wikimedia Community User Group Rwanda, the founder of OpenStreetMap Rwanda, and an advocate for open knowledge.
