Africa Growth Pilot/Online self-paced course/Module 4/What if I'm still unsure
What if I'm still not sure about whether or not I can cite this particular source? Maybe you have a source and you've listened to me very carefully, but you still don't know if you can cite it or not. I have a magical answer for you: (those of you who have been paying attention will already be able to predict my answer). The magical answer is: ask!. Ask the community. Ask at the community's Reliable Sources Noticeboard. This is a page on English Wikipedia where you can literally ask any question you want about sources, and all of you who have been struggling with sourcing in the past -- I mean, those of you who have; I'm not saying all of you did, but all of you who have struggled with sourcing in the past should be using this page, the Reliable Sources noticeboard. The link is in the slide. You can come here and literally ask! People just ask any and everything that they have. You can say, "I want to cover this topic, but I don't have a source. Can anyone help me find a source?" You could do that. You could also say, "I have this source. Is this reliable? Can I cite this, would this count?" and get advice from people. Sometimes the answer might be: "no, this wouldn't, but here's a better source!"
So this is a great place to get help before you put in a lot of work to the article, when your source isn't reliable. Let's find out in advance whether or not the community thinks it is reliable! This is a matter determined by the community. The community discusses it and as a group decides whether something is reliable or not. I want you to use this when you are looking for reliable sources, it will really help. You don't have to guess! If you're not sure, just come and ask.
