What languages do you speak, and at what fluency level? (Please include your English proficiency.) I am a native speaker in English. Also, I understand some Spanish, some Mandarin, and some Japanese.
What region(s) of the world do you have experience with, and what kind of experience do you have? (“Experience” can mean you have lived or worked there or are currently living or working there; you’re familiar with the culture and language; etc.) I have extensively traveled to the Pacific rim of Asia, traveled in Europe while going to school in Austria, traveled in Afria and Latin America, and I live in Maryland in the United States of America.
What Wikimedia project(s) do you actively edit? And in what language(s)? My projects include Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia. I focus on providing photographs to all language articles.
What affiliate(s) are you actively involved with? In what capacity are you involved? Do you serve in a leadership role or have you in the past? I was a member of the Board of Directors for Wikimedia DC and i am still a member of Wikimedia DC.
Have you served on any committees (movement-related or otherwise)? And what was your role on the committee(s)? I have served on the Wikimedia DC Board of Directors. On the Anne Arundel Amusement License Commission, I am the Chairperson and Commissioner.
Please describe any experience you have with conflict resolution and/or consensus building. Currently, I am a Major in the Maryland Defense Force in the Policies and Plans Department. In the recent past, I was a member of the Judge Advocate, where I drafted policies, such as the informal administrative investigations policy, which were later adopted.
In your ideal world, what does the affiliate model and ecosystem look like? By focusing on emerging communities, such as the Global South, LGBQT+, Art + Feminism, and persons of color, I want to see continued growth in the numbers of readers and, more importantly, new editors so our Wikimedia projects’ content is inclusive and serves the educational mission.
In your ideal world, what are AffCom’s roles and responsibilities in relation to the movement and affiliates? In an ideal world, AffCom's role is to support and nurture old and new talents to provide leadership to the Wiki community.
What role within AffCom are you most interested in: advisory or voting member? I am most interested in being a voting member but I will accept being in an advisory position.<
