Hi! I'm Austin Hair.

I've been a Wikimedian since early 2004, first editing the English-language Wikipedia, then quickly getting involved in "meta" matters after taking a lead role in coordinating Wikimania 2005. I've played a part in organizing every Wikimania since, most notably in 2006 and 2010.

I took an active interest in Wikimedia chapters early on, and was a founding member of the Chapters committee when it was formed in 2006; for a few years, I had the dubious distinction of serving as its chairman.

I also administer several Wikimedia mailing lists, including Wikimedia-l, handle OTRS queries, and help out wherever I can.

I was formerly a contractor for the Wikimedia Foundation, as a facilitator and adviser for the movement roles project, and served for a time on the bestuur (board) of Wikimedia Nederland as vicevoorzitter (vice president).

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page or e-mail me directly.

I'm tired of wrestling with constantly changing userboxes. I speak English natively, can communicate effectively in Spanish, and am improving my Dutch day by day. I live in the Netherlands, and so along with most of continental Europe my time zone is currently UTC+2.
