Mobile version: edit menu and footer

Is ogg or oga preferred for commons audio files?

for audio-only files in the ogg format, is there a preference for ogg or oga extension? elaborate a bit on technical consideration? asking because i saw https://github.com/manimaran96/Spell4Wiki/issues/87 . RoyZuo (talk) 09:52, 28 November 2024 (UTC)

random (incorrect?) illustration in Wikidata page

I have not been able to find out why a Claude Monet painting is present as illustration in the Wikidata box on

 Category:19th-century physicians from Germany

I have visited the Wikidata authority file (Q6281401) and find no reference to any illustration. (I only know/believe that the only connection between 19th Century Physicians and this painting is that they were both in the 19th Century.) Please help. Seauton (talk) 18:49, 2 December 2024 (UTC)

Adjusting Anchor Link Scrolling in MediaWiki

I am working on customizing our MediaWiki installation. We are using the Medik skin and have encountered an issue: when an anchor link is clicked, it does not position itself correctly on the page. I would like to know the best way to resolve this issue and implement smooth and precise scrolling behavior. Is there a way to implement this functionality globally? مشکل در انتشار مقاله ترجمه شده

با درود و وقت بخیر من مقاله حمید محمودی رو از ویکی‌پدیا انگلیسی به فارسی ترجمه کردم منتها و زمانیکه میخوام مقاله رو منتشر کنم در قسمت شما ربات نیستید با اینکه حروف رد درست وارد میکنم ولی متاسفانه قبول نمیکنه و تکرار وارد کردن نویسه ها ظاهر میشه الان چند وقته اینجوریه چطوری باید این مشکل برطرف بشه؟؟؟ با سپاسDaniel lorano (talk) 16:24, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

How to start a new wiki

Reset password - No email receiving

I created a wiki page and I am unable to log in with my password after a long time without logging in. After clearing cookies I had to log in again and my password was not accepted. I requested an email to reset but I do not receive any email. Is there a solution or do I have to create a new username and transfer the content from the old one? about bnwiki database and my sql

Why total non deleted revision row number is greater than user_editcount of user table here https://quarry.wmcloud.org/history/57011/961698/933085 ? Is it a bug or am I missing something? -- Ahmad Kanik 💬 05:54, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

Could it be imported revisions? Actions that create a null revision? Or perhaps some very old bug where some edits wouldn't be counted under specific circumstances? --Matěj Suchánek (talk) 16:25, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

database column missing

Hello, is this schema up to date in this link? (https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Manual:Database_layout/diagram&action=render) Why is the column pl_title missing in the pagelinks table? WASP-Outis (talk) 23:20, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

No it is not, as stated at the top of the document: "1.42.1 (July 2024)" and if you click the page links, it will show you that in 1.43 it was removed, now that there is pl_target_id linking into the linktarget table. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 14:40, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
