Interest

• I think this a wonderful idea. I have been endeavoring to do some of these things due to the weight of responsibility on WMF folks; in particular I've been monitoring the quality of dialogue on Q&A, checking that new hosts are appropriate, and use of the talk-back template, I'd be very interested in this position. However, my October will be very busy, and so it is not something I can commit to until November. But I am interested! I Jethrobot (talk) 05:14, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

A week/10 days instead of a month, scheduling, overlap

In my current job, I'm the backward double-SOB and could be called at any time. Unless I'm on vacation time, my availability and schedule often changes abruptly and unexpectedly. I might be able to commit to a week once in a while, maybe 10 days. An entire month is out of the question until I retire (counting the months). Need a place to sign up for specific time periods, perhaps a calendar. On or linked to the Lounge seems like a logical spot. I suggest some overlap or redundancy be built in. Two or three Maitre'd who reside in different parts of the world would be active at different times. That may be best for continuity, hopefully with some overlap in the times a Maitre'd is present and active. I generally get on line only once or twice a day; likely true for many. Your thoughts? Doctree took the words out of my keyboard. I also think that a month is kind of a long time. I would like to see at least two at a time, and I like the idea of overlap, which I interpret as kind of an American Senatorial thing where they are selected at different times instead of a complete shift in personnel all at once.
